Leanne McLaughlin
is an artist and sculptor
based in North West Donegal
Leanne McLaughlin is a graduate of the University of Ulster's Fine and Applied Art AB Degree programme. Having worked on a wide variety of projects over the years ranging from visual art and community arts projects to fine art sculptures and public art, Leanne has a wealth of experience and a knowledge base of techniques that can be applied to any project.
For the past number of years she has been an invited artist for the 'Cossan Glas' sculpture trail, as part of the Errigal Arts Festival. Her large scale sculptures have been exhibited nationally and internationally. In the past few years, Leanne has taken on a number of high profile commissions from Mountshannon Arts Festival, Blarney Castle in Cork, University College Dublin, City of Culture-Derry and The National Botanic Gardens.
Leanne works as an Arts Council Creative Associate - to support a culture of creativity for students within the school environment and to build collaborations and partnerships between the school and their network of local cultural and creative resources. Leanne's facilitation work has included the North West Carnival Group, VOID Gallery, Unheard Voices Cross community group and work with the elderly in residential care.
Leanne works in a variety of mediums including print, oil, willow, bamboo, ink, metal and plastics. Her work is highly distinctive, original and emotionally poignant.
